Join me for a morning of "Complete Practice" at the serene Wild Lotus Yoga Collective. This class is designed to provide a full system reset, giving participants the satisfaction of movement and strength balanced with the depth of presence, stillness, and peace that comes from Kaiut and meditation.

We'll start with some gentle, floor-based flow to warm up the body and ease into the practice. Then, we'll ooze our way into a juicy Kaiut sequence that focuses on optimizing joint function and nervous system regulation. We'll finish up with a peaceful seated meditation to leave you feeling centered and calm.

This all-levels class welcomes everyone, but participants should be comfortable getting down to the floor and being on hands and knees at times. Wild Lotus offers an open, light-filled space tucked into nature, providing a homey retreat center vibe with gorgeous views of the lake from the studio windows.

All props are provided, so just bring yourself and a willingness to explore.

Happy Hips

The hips are incredible powerhouses for the physical and emotional bodies. Designed to move fluidly, the pelvic girdle is unfortunately impeded by the large amount of sitting that our culture undertakes daily. This is the first time in human history that we have grown our bones while sitting in chairs. The impact of this cannot be understated--loss of circulation, decreased movement of lymphatic fluid, constriction throughout the torso, impoverished digestive and reproductive functions, pain and injury to the knees and shoulders...the list goes on!

So let's carve out some time to love on our hips. In this Kaiut Yoga Method workshop, we will free blockages in the soft tissues that restrict this area of the body. The result will be a more optimized biomechanical functioning of the whole system and an improved sense of overall well-being.

All levels are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing. Mats and props are available at the studio, however you are welcome to bring your own. We will be using bolsters, a strap, blocks and blankets.

We spend our lives “right side up,” but for hundreds of years Yogis have practiced inverting their bodies to awaken their minds, heal their bodies, and extend their lifespans.

Modern Western Yoga throws practitioners into inversions through force and effort, but is this really a sustainable approach? Will we be donkey-kicking into handstands in our nineties? Perhaps there’s another way–a soft approach that allows us to safely receive the benefits of inverting from a passive and restful state.

In this workshop, we will use the wall, props, modifications, and softness to create a gentle and stable way of being upside down for all bodies.

Refine and enhance your classes with safe, effective assists. Learn how to use skillful hands-on touch to support, guide, nourish and challenge your students.
This course is a fun and educational dip into the world of yoga assists as taught by Tucker Shelton, M.A., E-RYT 500, YACEP, KYM 475. This training will give attendees a basic foundation for offering ethical and thoughtful assists in Yoga classes of various styles.

Tucker will discuss the ethics, theory, and application of Yoga assists in classes. You will study traditional Yoga assists along with partner Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage techniques. You will learn how to modify your offerings to meet the needs of the many bodies you will encounter as a teacher.

Adjusting practice with a partner
Ethics, theory & techniques of hands-on touch
Thai Yoga Massage and Partner Yoga Techniques
Learn about acupressure points to deepen assists
Assists for both flow sequences and Restorative/Yin holds

Sweet Awakening Slow Flow
This gentle, all-access class synchronizes breath with movement in a smooth, therapeutic way and then spills into restful, long-held postures for a full system treat. You will be calmly challenged and energized in the first half of the class, building and engaging your strength and concentration. Then you get to unwind, allowing your body to pause and deepen into some delicious stretches.

Restorative Stress Melt
Soothing the body and mind, we use our breath and gravity to guide us deeper into relaxation with a focus on opening the joints and connective tissues. This Yin-Restorative fusion class is the perfect antidote for our modern, stressful lives and is open to all levels of experience.

Longevity Yoga Teacher Training: The Art of Wasting Time Productively

After studying numerous styles of yoga over the last 15 years, always with a leaning towards sustainable practices, Tucker now focuses on teaching the Kaiut Yoga Method. This method is focused on longevity and long-term mobility rather than quick fixes, and along with Tucker's other studies serves as the inspiration for the content of this training.

Designed as a practice intensive, this training will include 4+ hours of practice per day along with lectures and discussions that explore theory and technique.

This module presents twenty sequences for students to take away for home practice. It is complementary to other Longevity Yoga modules, but previous modules are not required in order to attend this one.

What we will cover:

  • Principles of the Kaiut method

  • Unlearning Yoga to learn Longevity Yoga

  • Reframe the art of teaching, examine your approach to guiding students, and explore ways to improve

  • Study philosophy of Yoga and how it relates to this method
